SUBSCRIBE FORM / PLUGINFILES

Set up Subscribe Form, step by step

Go from installation to your first confirmation email. Learn how to publish forms, connect SMTP, move settings, and update with a recovery plan.

01. Install and publish

Check WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 8.0+. Install the published package, activate the plugin, and write your consent statement. Add [[sfu_form]] to a page and check it on mobile.

02. Configure SMTP

Get the server, port, authentication, and encryption settings from your provider. Use an authorized sender. Check spam, provider logs, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC if delivery fails. Never publish credentials.

03. Confirm and unsubscribe

Request a signup, open the email link, and confirm the action. Check the dashboard status. Repeat the process with the unsubscribe shortcode.

04. Transfer JSON settings

Export settings, keep the file private, and import it on the destination site. Secrets stay out of the export: configure credentials separately and test delivery again.

05. Update and recover

Back up files and the database. Configure PLUGINFILES UPDATER for subscribeform-unified/subscribeform-unified.php and test on a separate site first. File rollback does not restore the entire database.
